Nashville SC Travels to Florida to Face Inter Miami CF for Third Time this Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following its bye week, Nashville SC returns to play on Saturday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. CT when the club heads south to take on Inter Miami CF at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Here are five things to know for Saturday’s match, airing live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on Nashville SC’s flagship station 104.5 the Zone and Sirius XM (English and Spanish).

1. After starting its 2024 season with 11 matches in 45 days across all competitions (MLS and Concacaf Champions Cup), the Boys in Gold had their first 2024 bye week last weekend.

1. Saturday night’s match at Chase Stadium marks the third time the Boys in Gold have faced off against their Florida opponents since March 7, 2024. The previous two meetings between the clubs took place during Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 play. Since both teams entered MLS during the 2020 season, they have played 12 times across all competitions with Nashville SC holding a record of 4W-3L-5D.

1. After entering MLS together in 2020, Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF have become natural rivals. The Boys in Gold claimed their first Audi MLS Cup Playoff win with a 3-0 victory over Inter Miami CF at Nissan Stadium on Nov. 20, 2020 and went unbeaten against the Herons for a span of 343 days (2W-0L-2D) from Aug. 30, 2020 to Aug. 8, 2021, conceding zero goals across those matches. The two clubs also met in the inaugural Leagues Cup Final last season, played at GEODIS Park.

1. Nashville SC forward Sam Surridge enters play Saturday with four goals in seven matches across all competitions this season, including a tally at Miami on March 13 during Concacaf Champions Cup play. Three of the Englishman’s goals have come in his last five appearances.

1. Two new rules will debut in all MLS matches this weekend: the Timed Substitution Rule and the Off-Field Treatment Rule (OTR). Under these rules, players being substituted out of the match will have a maximum of 10 seconds to leave the field of play, and players who receive medical attention from medical staff on the field of play may be required to leave the field of play for two minutes. If a player violates the Timed Substitution Rule, the player subbing into the match cannot enter play until the first stoppage following a 60 second holding period, leaving the offending team shorthanded.
