RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC today announced that it has hired Craig Dalrymple as Head of Professional Player Development. Dalrymple brings more than 25 years of soccer coaching and player development experience, most recently as Inter Miami CF Academy Director since 2021 following a decade with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he briefly served as Interim Head Coach at the MLS level in 2018. In his role with Sounders FC, he oversees the professional development of players with an emphasis on strengthening the pathway of the club’s highest-potential athletes, both on and off the field.

“I’d like to officially congratulate Craig and welcome him to the organization,” said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Craig Waibel. “We’re pleased to add someone with his experience and pedigree to our staff, and I look forward to working with him to further increase and enhance our player development process.”

Dalrymple, 50, began his career in MLS as Whitecaps FC Academy Technical Director in 2010, holding many roles across 10 years with the club as a vital part in the development system. Dalrymple then moved on to become Inter Miami’s Academy Director from 2021-2023, overseeing over 150 players from the U-12 to U-19 levels before being hired by Sounders FC. In his time with Miami and Vancouver, he helped elevate 25 Homegrown Players to the MLS level.

“I am thrilled to take on the role of Head of Professional Player Development with Sounders FC,” said Dalrymple. “The club has a successful history of recruiting, developing and transitioning young talent into the professional game, and the implementation of this new role will further enhance our collective ability to meet the objectives and vision put in place by ownership and senior management.”
