Empire Strykers News Release

Ontario, Calif. – The Empire Strykers today announced that their home broadcasting duo of Christian “Filly” Filimon and Jonathan “The Doctor” Reimer has been chosen to travel to Mexico and call Game 2 of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) final series between home side Chihuahua Savage and the visiting Kansas City Comets. Scheduled to kick off at 7:05 p.m. PT on Tuesday, March 30, the match will stream exclusively in English on CBS Sports Golazo Network, with Canela providing the Spanish-language broadcast.

Ever since its inaugural MASL broadcast back in mid-March, which also featured Filimon and Reimer on the call as Empire took on long-time rival San Diego, the Golazo Network has aired several playoff games, continuing to expose its vast audience across the United States to the highest level of professional indoor soccer in the world. Broadcasts can be accessed with a Paramount+ subscription or watched for free on www.CBSSports.com or on connected TVs and mobile devices via the CBS Sports app or Pluto TV.

Head Coach Genoni Martinez’s men scored consecutive goals in the final quarter of Game 1 at Kansas City for a 4-3 come-from-behind victory.

“When it comes to indoor soccer experiences, I can’t think of anything more exciting than to travel down there and be in the booth for a game of this magnitude,” said Filimon, who hails from New York and has been the play-by-play voice of the Strykers since 2021. “I want to thank the MASL front office for this opportunity and vow to be the best possible ambassador of our sport by sharing my authentic passion with diehard fans, complete newbies, and everyone in between.”

The sentiment was echoed by Reimer, who has served as Empire’s color analyst alongside his broadcast partner since day one. The pair also…
