Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla – The USL Championship revealed the Team of the Week for Week 6 of the 2024 regular season on Tuesday, with Tampa Bay Rowdies forward Cal Jennings and midfielder Blake Bodily both earning spots following stellar showings in the squad’s 5-2 win over Miami FC last week.

Tampa Bay’s Joshua Pérez also earned a spot on the Team of the Week bench for his two assists in the result against Miami. Pérez now leads the Rowdies with three assists on the year.

Jennings continued his hot start to the season with one tally in each half in Miami. After hitting the woodwork with a clever chip early in the match, Jennings eventually found the back of the net with a headed effort in front of goal off of a cross from Bodily. Jennings completed his brace in the 52nd minute, finishing off a counterattack generated by Pérez. The 26-year-old attacker currently leads the Rowdies with four goals through the first five matches of the season.

In addition to his assist on Jennings’ first-half goal, Bodily also netted his first goal for the Rowdies. A newcomer to the squad this season, Bodily extended Tampa Bay’s lead with a left-footed rocket from the left edge of the box deep in added time of the first half. Bodily joined the Rowdies in the offseason following a career-best season with San Diego Loyal in which he posted five goals and nine assists.

The Rowdies return to action this Saturday, April 20 in a matchup with El Paso Locomotive FC at Al Lang Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and tickets can be purchased at rowdiessoccer.com/tickets/.
