RICHMOND, VA – In a captivating clash between the Richmond Kickers and Central Valley Fuego FC, fans at City Stadium were treated to a spectacle of soccer brilliance, culminating in a thrilling victory for the home side.

The game burst into life in the 17th minute when Chandler O’Dwyer etched his name on the scoresheet, courtesy of a sublime assist from S. Fitch. O’Dwyer’s clinical finish sent the crowd into a frenzy as the Kickers seized an early lead.

Central Valley Fuego FC, however, refused to be deterred and mounted a spirited response. In the 32nd minute, Robert Coronado announced his arrival in the USL League One this season with a well-taken goal, leveling the scoreline and injecting new life into the contest.

As the game progressed into the second half, the intensity only escalated. In the 58th minute, Z. Vazquez broke the deadlock with a superb strike, marking his return to the scoresheet for the first time since September 24th, 2023, against Union Omaha.

But the resilient Richmond Kickers refused to relinquish control. In the 61st minute, Adrian Billhardt displayed his attacking prowess with a clinical finish, further swinging the momentum in favor of the home side, with Nil Vinyals providing the crucial assist.

As the clock ticked on, Richmond continued to assert their dominance. Chandler O’Dwyer added his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute, extending the Kickers’ lead and putting the result beyond doubt.

In the dying moments of the match, Central Valley Fuego FC attempted to salvage a consolation goal, but their efforts were thwarted. Maximiliano Schenfeld was cautioned for time-wasting in the 95th minute, highlighting the frustration of the visitors as they struggled to break down Richmond’s resolute defense.

Central Valley Fuego FC displayed commendable resilience throughout the match, with an impressive passing display, attempting 565 passes, their highest total in a single match in the USL League One since last season. M. Dabo, in particular, stood out with 105 attempted passes, the highest for a Central Valley Fuego player this season.

Ultimately, however, it was the Richmond Kickers who emerged victorious, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive solidity to secure a well-deserved win and continue their ascent in the USL League One standings.
