KANSAS CITY – As the National Women’s Soccer League pauses to honor the FIFA international window, two more Kansas City Current players have been called up by their home country for international play. Brazilian defender Lauren and Danish defender Stine Ballisager Pedersen will each head out to join their national teams for important matches.

Lauren will join Brazil for the SheBelieves Cup April 6-9. The annual tournament features four of the top-ranked teams in the world as they each prepare for the 2024 Olympic Tournament this summer. Brazil will open the tournament Saturday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m CT against Canada at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Depending on results, Lauren and her teammates will then face either the United States or Japan April 9 at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.

Ballisager will join Denmark as the team hopes to qualify for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 tournament. With 47 appearances for her home country, Ballisager is an important piece to Denmark’s qualifying efforts. The Danes will travel to play Czechoslovakia Friday, April 5. The team will then host Belgium at Viborg Stadium in Viborg, Denmark Tuesday, April 9.

Both players will still be available for selection in the Current’s home match Saturday against Angel City at CPKC Stadium.
