LAFC Names Enrique Duran Head Coach of MLS Next Pro Team, LAFC2

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) fell 2-0 to Minnesota United on Saturday night at Allianz Field in Minneapolis, MN. LAFC is now 1-2-1 on the season with four points and is still on the hunt for its first result on the road.

Minnesota jumped out to an early lead as Robin Lod gave the home side the advantage in the 16th minute and Bongokuhle Hlongwane added his goal in the 88th giving the Loons their first win over the Black & Gold since 2019.

LAFC have been held scoreless in their last three matches, and have now gone 305 minutes since their last goal, which was scored in the 55th minute of the club’s season opener on February 24.

LAFC will now return to Los Angeles as they prepare to host Nashville SC next Saturday, March 23, at BMO Stadium. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be shown live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and can be heard in English on the ESPNLA App and in Spanish on 980 AM La Mera Mera.

Eduard Atuesta’s start on Saturday night marked his 100th MLS regular-season appearance for LAFC. He joins Carlos Vela (152), Latif Blessing (145), Diego Rossi (104), Diego Palacios (102), and Jose Cifuentes (102) in LAFC’s century club.

Tonight’s match marked defender Ryan Hollingshead’s 200th MLS regular season start.
