Church Announces 2024 Duke Women’s Soccer Schedule


DURHAM – Duke women’s soccer head coach Robbie Church announced the 2024 schedule on Wednesday, which includes seven teams that received NCAA Tournament selections a season ago.
 
Those teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament include Clemson, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford and Tennessee.   Both Stanford and Clemson advanced to the NCAA College Cup as well. 
 
Duke will play a pair of exhibition matches on Aug. 5 versus Furman in Durham and Aug. 8 at NC State in Raleigh, N.C.
 
The Blue Devils hit the road for the first two matches to open the regular season at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m., followed by at Nebraska on Aug. 22 at 8 p.m.  The Cornhuskers are coming off a 17-4-3 ledger a season ago along with an appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. 
 
Duke will feature a contest against UNC Wilmington on Thursday, Aug. 29 for its home opener at 7 p.m., which marks the first of five straight home matches to close non-conference play – Tennessee (Sept. 1), North Carolina (Sept. 5), East Tennessee State (Sept. 8) and Missouri (Sept. 12).  The five opponents combined to collect 43 wins in 2023. 
 
For the ACC opener, the Blue Devils hit the road for Clemson on Thursday, Sept. 19.  Other road ACC matches include – Stanford (Oct. 10), California (Oct. 13), Wake Forest (Oct. 27) and North Carolina (Oct. 31). 
 
Duke features five home ACC matches at Koskinen Stadium against SMU (Sept. 27), Virginia (Oct. 3), Louisville (Oct. 6), Boston College (Oct. 19) and Notre Dame (Oct. 24). 
 
Coming off a season where the Blue Devils struggled with a 6-7-3 record, Church expects to return 10-of-11 starters and has added four very impressive transfers to the mix with the addition of All-American Hannah Bebar (Harvard), Farrah Walters (Santa Clara), Mia Oliaro (North Carolina) and Ella Hase (Northwestern). 
 
The four incoming transfers have combined to play in 141 matches with 132 starts, scored 48 goals, added 42 assists and notched 138 points over their careers.
 
Church also added one of the top incoming freshman classes with the addition of Caroline Dysart, Lauren Martinho, Mary Long and Sophia…
