March 2, 2024 – MLS NEXT Pro (MLS NEXT Pro) – New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. – New York Red Bulls II have been scheduled to host USL League 2 side Hudson Valley Hammers in the first round of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, March 20, at MSU Soccer Park at 7:30 p.m. ET.
New York will be participating in the competition for the first time since 2015. This will be the first U.S. Open Cup match that Red Bulls II will host at MSU Soccer Park.
New York Red Bulls II are one of 11 clubs in MLS NEXT Pro that have been selected for the competition. The other 21 Division III Pro clubs that will be participating in the first round will come from two separate leagues: the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) (9) and USL League One (12).
The remaining 32 teams participating in the first round of the are Open Division Amateur sides that qualified from multiple leagues and competitions.
