Malanda was named Man of the Match in Charlotte FC’s 1-0 win in their season opener against New York City FC with a monster performance. The 22-year-old center back not only put on a defensive masterclass that included three tackles, five interceptions, four recoveries, and four ground duels won but also scored the game-winning goal.
Malanda joins prestigious company alongside Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool, Jules Koundé from Barcelona, and Nabil Fekir from Real Betis as the standout French players of the weekend.
