Racing Louisville and Lauren Milliet, the club’s all-time appearances and minutes leader, have agreed to a restructured and extended contract for the defender, the club announced Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Milliet’s new deal with updated terms now runs through the 2026 season, adding a year to the Colorado native’s previous agreement.

“Louisville is morning coffee at Sunergos, Sunday strolls at Cherokee Park with my dogs, whoops at the track when horse No. 2 wins and rowdy nights ‘racing’ around Lynn Family Stadium,” Milliet said. “My family and I are beyond thrilled to call this city home through 2026. We are building something truly special here, and I am extremely excited to be a part of it.”

“Lo has been a leader in several facets within this group,” said Racing coach Bev Yanez. “She works hard day in and out to contribute and comes every day with a professional attitude and readiness to compete. “Lauren is a consummate leader both on and off the field, and she embodies everything our club values,” said Racing general manager Ryan Dell. “Her dedication and passion make her an exceptional professional. We are thrilled she will continue her career with Racing though 2026.”

She finished first in the NWSL in possessions won, second in ball recoveries and fouls won, third in possessions won in the defensive third and eighth in interceptions.

Milliet has made 86 appearances across all competitions for Racing, including 79 starts, helping the team reach its first NWSL final in the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup. She has played in every single game since Racing’s inception after spending her first two years as a professional in North Carolina, where she made 10 appearances.
