The 2024 MLS regular season is here.

Chicago Fire FC kicks off its 27th season in MLS play this week, with the team set to travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and will be transmitted locally in English on WLS-AM 890 and in Spanish on WRTO-AM 1200.

33 – This will be the 33rd contest between Chicago Fire FC and Philadelphia Union, with Saturday marking the 16th road contest for the Fire since Philadelphia’s arrival to MLS in 2010.

1 – Saturday will mark the first time that the Fire has played its season opener against the Union. It also marks the second straight year in which the Fire has played their first road match of the season against Philadelphia.

6 – Entering his sixth season with the Club, midfielder Fabian Herbers is the longest-tenured player on the Fire’s roster. Herbers originally began his MLS career with the Philadelphia Union after being drafted as the sixth-overall pick in 2016. Since joining the Fire, he has made 122 appearances (81 starts), tallying 12 goals and 10 assists. The 2024 season opener will mark his 11th match against his former side since joining Chicago in December of 2018.

146 – Fire midfielder Chris Mueller currently sits at 146 MLS appearances, four away from an impressive 150.
