Newcastle could get FFP boost from the sale of Brentford striker

Brentford has already acquired a possible Ivan Toney replacement.

With the £30 million signing of Igor Thiago from Club Brugge, Brentford smashed their transfer record.

Newcastle will be keeping an eye on events. Prior to acquiring Alexander Isak, Newcastle was considering re-signing Toney.

Newcastle gained from a thirty percent sell-on clause in 2020 when Toney relocated from Peterborough to Brentford, and Darragh MacAnthony, the chairman of Posh, had stated that his team would ‘have to give’ the Magpies a further percentage fee of any subsequent price.

According to Thomas Frank, Toney is valued at least £100 million. If Brentford could get that kind of money, Peterborough would be owed more than £10 million. Newcastle will also get a portion of that fee.
