OTTAWA, ON – Atletico Ottawa remains undefeated and moves back to the top of the table at the start of the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season having been held to a stalemate despite a dominant performance against Vancouver FC as Rubén del Campo continues his goal-scoring form in attack. The Ottawa team will remain in British Columbia this week before clashing with Pacific FC (Victoria, BC) on Friday (KO 10pm ET, live on OneSoccer).

Atlético Ottawa starts a road trip to British Columbia with a 1-1 draw away as Vancouver FC came from behind to draw in Langley.

After a dominant first-half performance, Rubén del Campo gave Atlético the lead shortly after the interval (56′).

Del Campo has scored three goals in his last three CPL matches – opening the score on all three occasions.

The hosts found an equalizer through an Alejandro Díaz header (75′).

Ottawa pushed and was denied multiple times towards the end of the match but were unable to find the winning goal.

Ballou Tabla continues to grow game by game, providing a constant threat during his 64 minutes on the pitch.

Tabla won the ball back high up the field in the action that led to Ottawa’s first opening goal.

The 25-year-old led the match in shots, shots on target, big chances, and dribbles.

A strong away performance will leave Atlético wondering how they didn’t walk away with the full three points in Langley.

Ottawa managed an expected goals (xG) of 2.65 compared to Vancouver’s 0.31, while leading the match in shots (19 to 8), and shots on target (7 to 4).

Vancouver goalkeeper, Callum Irving, was named Performance of the Match having made five (5) crucial saves.

Atlético put an end to Vancouver’s winning run at home, as the hosts remain undefeated at Willoughby Park at the start of the CPL season.

This was the first draw between these two teams (3-1-1).

Atletico continues their travels throughout British Columbia this week, facing Pacific FC on Friday, May 18 (kick-off 10pm ET, live on OneSoccer).

This is the first trip to Victoria, BC, for Atlético this season and the second of three clashes between these two sides in May 2024.

Atlético travels to Pacific for the return leg of the Canadian Championship quarterfinals (1-1 in the first leg).
