Cal Freshman Gets Call To International Training Camp

California women’s soccer freshman Miriam Hils has been selected to train with Team Germany at its Under-20 Women’s National Team international training camp at the end of February.

Hils will join the 24-player roster in Alicante, Spain for training before the team takes on Spain and Mexico in test matches. The pair of matches will prepare the team for the 2024 U20 FIFA Women’s World Cup set to take place later this summer from Aug. 31 to Sept. 22 in Colombia.

Hils, who is originally from Delbrück, Germany, joined the Golden Bears this past fall for her debut season. The first year was an immediate impact player, starting in 16 matches and coming off the bench for one more. Hils, a defender, scored her first collegiate career goal in Cal’s 8-1 blowout win over Oregon on Oct. 19, 2023.
