South Georgia Tormenta FC is proud to announce the signing of Austin Wehner. The 23-year-old winger signed his first professional club contract, joining Tormenta FC on a one-year contract and option for 2025, pending league and federation approval.
“I am very excited to be joining my first professional soccer team. It is truly a dream come true, and I’m immensely grateful for this opportunity that Tormenta FC is providing me. It’s a testament to hard work and perseverance, and I’m excited to embrace the challenges ahead while living out my passion for the beautiful game. I can’t wait to kick things off this season and am looking forward to having a very successful season with this talented squad. Vamos Tormenta!” Wehner said.
Wehner played his 2022 and 2023 seasons at Sacramento State University where he played in 36 matches. During his time as a Hornet, he scored eight goals and tallied seven assists. He also spent time playing for USL League Two side, Davis Legacy SC.
The California native spent his 2019 to 2021 seasons playing for San Diego State University where he made 40 appearances, scored two goals and had two assists.
“In Austin we have signed a versatile front line player who can play wide or central. Austin’s competitive nature makes him impactful in every game we analyzed. He has a natural instinct to make runs in behind and get across defenders to score goals in the box. These are traits we can map and visualize contributing to goals,” Head Coach Ian Cameron explained.

Tormenta FC is proud to compete in the professional USL League One and the pre-professional USL W-League. South Georgia Tormenta FC rose victorious in 2022, becoming the USL League One Champions and the USL-W League champions.
