Blackburn sign long-serving Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck on a deal until the end of the season

Blackburn have announced the signing of John Fleck on a free transfer from Sheffield United

The 32-year-old made over 250 league appearances for the Blades after signing for the club in 2016.

Fleck was part of the Sheffield United squad that secured back-to-back promotions in 2018 and 2019, with the club rising from League One to the Premier League.

The midfielder made 26 appearances during Sheffield United’s promotion season back to the Premier League last season.

Fleck has made just one start in the Premier League this season, making four appearances in total.

The Scotland international joins Blackburn on a deal until the end of the season.

Fleck became Blackburn’s seventh signing of the January transfer window.

Rovers also signed Billy Koumetio on loan from Liverpool and Duncan McGuire from Orlando City on deadline day.
