Burnley defender Connor Roberts is attracting attention from Brentford, Feyenoord and Leeds United in the final week of the transfer window.

All three clubs are searching for an attacking right-back and have added the Wales international to their shortlist of options as they look to step up recruitment efforts.

Roberts has 18 months left on contract and has made 15 appearances for Burnley this season but has predominantly been used from the bench in recent weeks.

That has prompted interested clubs to ask the question if he can be prised away from Burnley’s survival fight this month.

Burnley are working on a £10.5million deal for 21-year old Montpellier centre back Maxime Esteve and his arrival could allow them to shuffle defenders to cover for Roberts’ departure.

The 28-year old Roberts will want to be playing from the start more regularly as he pushes his claims for a place in Wales’s squad as they prepare to face Finland in the European Championships qualifying play-off in March.

Brentford have shown interest before and recognise Roberts can also fill in at left-back, likewise Leeds United.

Ironically, Feyenoord were rebuffed by Nottingham Forest in an effort to sign another Wales right-back Neco Williams last week but are now assessing whether they could persuade Burnley to let Roberts go.
