LOS ANGELES – The 2024 NWSL Draft was held on Friday night and USC’s Zoe Burns was selected by the Utah Royals with the first pick of the third round.
 
Burns is the 16th Trojan to be selected in the NWSL draft since its inception in 2014. In joining Utah, she will reunite with USC great and former Trojan assistant coach Amy Rodriguez, who took over as the Utah Royals’ head coach in April of 2023.
 
Zoe Burns – Utah Royals (Round 3, Pick 29)
Burns was a four-year starter for the Trojans, appearing in 68 total games with 58 starts, while earning All-Region honors twice and All-Pac-12 recognition three times. She helped lead USC to the postseason each of her four collegiate seasons. Burns recorded 5,112 minutes played, with six goals and 10 assists, while spending time all over the field for USC. She helped lead the Trojans to 44 total wins, 32 shutouts, four Top-3 finishes in the Pac-12 and 28 total conference victories while at USC.
