St. Louis Ambush Acquire Veteran Forward

St. Louis Ambush Head South of the Border for Pair of Games this Weekend

Saint Charles, Missouri – The St. Louis Ambush have signed veteran free agent forward VcMor Eligwe for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, the team announced today. Per league and team policies, no details of the deal have been disclosed.


The 2023-24 season is Eligwe’s eighth in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). He has played with the Dallas Sidekicks, the Mesquite Outlaws and Florida Tropics. In 114 career professional indoor soccer games, he has compiled 86 goals and 31 assists. Eligwe has appeared in six games with Dallas this season, scoring two goals and adding two assists. He was released by the Sidekicks on January 5 and the Ambush were successful in inking the veteran player to a deal.

Eligwe played collegiate soccer at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas predeeded by prep soccer at McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas. He originally hails from Marietta, Georgia.

Ambush head coach Jeff Locker said, “VcMor’s physicality and experience in the league will make him a valuable target forward for us and we expect him to contribute to our success as the season progresses.”

Eligwe said, “In my world, family always takes precedence, and it appears that the Ambush not only understands but embodies this principle. From players to the staff, to the supporters. Thrilled to unite with my new brothers in The Family Arena.”

The Ambush take the turf for back-to-back home games at The Family Arena on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, January 12, the Milwaukee Wave come to town for a 7:35 p.m. CT affair, followed by a visit from Utica City FC on Saturday, January 13 at 6:05 p.m. CT.

Both nights are also theme nights. The January 12 game is Five Acres Animal Night. Fans can purchase a ticket for their dog, bring their dog to the game and proceeds will go to the Five Acres Animal Shelter. The next night, January 13, is Family Night. Ambush players will walk out with their families during player introductions. January 13 is also Sumner One Poster Series night with poster #2 being handed out at the door and a postgame autograph session on the field.
