Sidekicks Sign Former FC Dallas Forward David Texeira Until 2026

Sidekicks Fall to Strykers on Second Match of Weekend Doubleheader

Allen, Texas – The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of Uruguayan forward and former FC Dallas player, David Texeira, until 2026. The 2023-2024 MASL season will mark Texeira’s first professional season in indoor soccer. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.


Texeira started his outdoor career in Uruguay for Defensor Sporting in 2009 and debuted in February 2010. In 2011, Texeira was transferred to FC Groningen and played there for three years.

He was then acquired by FC Dallas in February 2014 and was signed as a Designated Player. Texeira played in 41 matches with FC Dallas and scored 10 goals and had 3 assists. Texeira played at FC Dallas for two seasons and accumulated over 2400 minutes with the club.

In 2016, Texeira returned to Europe to play for Sivasspor in Turkey. He then went to play in Portugal. In September 2021, Texeira returned to the United States to play in USL League One with Chattanooga FC. Now he adds the Dallas Sidekicks to his extensive playing resume.

“I’m excited to play for the Sidekicks because they have an extensive history. I enjoy playing soccer. Most of all, I want to compete again and do what I love,” commented Texeira.

The Sidekicks have a busy weekend ahead. On Saturday, they take on the Milwaukee Wave in Milwaukee at 6:00 CST. Then, on Sunday, the Sidekicks go back home to play the Texas Outlaws at 3 PM.
