Earthquakes Sign Midfielder Jack Skahan to New Contract

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that they signed midfielder Jack Skahan to a new contract through the 2025 season with a club option for 2026.

Skahan, 25, has tallied four goals and one assist in 36 appearances across all competitions. In the 2023 Major League Soccer season, he scored a vital goal in the California Clásico match at Stanford Stadium and notched his first MLS career assist against LAFC. Skahan finished the campaign strong, featuring in the Quakes’ Audi MLS Cup Playoff game against Sporting Kansas City and converting his penalty kick in the shootout. He has also scored three goals in eight games played (all starts) over the past two seasons with Earthquakes II, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of the club.


The Memphis, Tennessee, native originally signed with the Quakes in February 2020 after being selected in the second round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. That year, he was loaned out to USL Championship side Reno 1868 FC. Prior to joining the professional ranks, Skahan was a four-year starter with the University of North Carolina and spent his youth career with the Philadelphia Union Academy.
