Women’s Soccer’s Schupanksy Earns Academic All-American Honors


PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer junior Sarah Schupanksy has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Division I Academic All-American Third Team.

The Psychology and Law, Criminal Justice and Society double major with a 3.903 grade point average is the second Panther in program history to garner this honor after Landy Mertz secured Academic All-American status last year.

Schupanksy started in 22 out of a record 24 games played this season – totaling 1633 minutes on the pitch. She is tied at the top for most goals on the team with her 11 on the season. The Pittsburgh, PA native holds the single season points record after registering those 11 goals and 14 assists to total 36 points. The Junior racked in numerous honors this season including United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Second team, All-ACC First Team Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Second Team, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team and a Top Drawer Soccer Post season ranking coming in at No. 13.
