A Texas-Size Showing at the Texas Outlaws Home Opener

Outlaws Fall to Savage in Chihuahua

MESQUITE, TEXAS – The Texas Outlaws headed into their home opener for the 2023 – 2024 MASL season on December 16, 2023, at the Mesquite Arena. Anticipation and excitement filled the air for this home opener as the team rebranded their program with their new name this season – The Texas Outlaws (formerly known as the Mesquite Outlaws. The Outlaws opened their 2023 -2024 MASL campaign against the Kansas City Comets.


Despite coming up short to Kansas City 9-7, the much-anticipated Texas Outlaws home opener was an impressive and community-driven event with an electric atmosphere.

The Texas Outlaws home opener was packed with over 1,300 fans in attendance. The Outlaws saw fans from the City of Mesquite and from across the State of Texas. The Outlaws had a record-breaking number of sponsors in attendance who were joined by local elected officials who took part in the opening ceremonies.

The City of Mesquite’s Mayor, Dan Aléman, attended the Outlaws home opener and presented an official Certificate of Recognition from the City of Mesquite to the Texas Outlaws GM Brad Namdar. Mayor Aléman conducted the Outlaws home opener ceremonial opening kick. The Mesquite Mayor was also accompanied by the city’s newly elected City Councilwoman – The Honorable Elizabeth Rodriguez-Ross.

Mayor Aleman stated to the fans at the Mesquite Arena, “As a city we are very proud to have a professional sports team that calls Mesquite its home,” said Aléman, “I have said it many times, there are many great things happening in the city of Mesquite – and the Texas Outlaws is one of them.”

Outlaws GM Brad Namdar stated, “We are tremendously proud to be part of this community in North Texas and have community stakeholders’ support and fans from the city of Mesquite and State of Texas come out,” said Namdar.

Long time Outlaws fan, Aubrey Linfield stated, “I have been a fan of the Outlaws since their first season in 2019 – 2020,” said Linfield, “This was the best home opener I have been to. You could really feel a sense of community support, and I’ve already marked my calendar to be at all the home games this season.”

The Texas Outlaws next home match will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 7:05 PM vs. the Dallas Sidekicks at the Mesquite Arena.
