Austin FC Agrees to Trade with New England Revolution

Claudio Reyna Resigns as Sporting Director, to Continue with Austin FC as Technical Advisor

Austin, TEXAS – Austin FC announced today the Club agreed to a trade with New England Revolution. Austin receives up to $300,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM) in exchange for defender Nick Lima. Austin is guaranteed to receive $275,000 in GAM, and could also receive an additional $25,000 if certain conditions are met.


Lima initially joined Austin FC ahead of its inaugural season in 2021 and went on to make 104 appearances across all competitions during the last three (3) seasons, the most of any outfield player in team history. He contributed one (1) goal and 13 assists during that span.

“We’re grateful to Nick for everything he contributed during his time in Austin, and as one of the Club’s original players, he’ll always be an important part of its history,” said Austin FC Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell. “We wish him and his family all the best in New England.”

The 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season is set to begin in late February, with the full schedule to be announced at a later date.
