MESQUITE, Texas – Texas Outlaws lose 8-7 in overtime against the Dallas Sidekicks in Allen, Texas. The Outlaws are now 1-1-1 and the Sidekicks are 1-1-0.
The first quarter scoring started with a Sidekicks goal from Colin O’Keefe in the sixth minute. 30 seconds later, Blas Perez, for the Sidekicks, scored, making it 2-0 for the Sidekicks. The Outlaws got on the board in the 10th minute with a goal from Erik Macias and an assist from Sebastian Mendez. The second quarter was scoreless, with many fouls from both the Outlaws and the Sidekicks. With 30 seconds left in the half, Chris Escalera from Sidekicks was issues a blue card for charging.
In the third quarter, Sebastian Mendez tied the game at 3-3 in the first 30 seconds, with an assist from Andy Reyes. Julio Varela got his first goal of the season for the Outlaws in the 4th minute, putting the Outlaws up for the first time this game 4-3. In the 11th minute, Luiz Morales scored for the Outlaws, giving them the lead by 2. After Axel Chakounte from the Outlaws was issued a blue card in the 13th minute for reckless tackle, Blas Perez scored his second goal of the night during a Sidekicks powerplay. The score was 5-4 Outlaws going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, VcMor Eligwe scored for the Sidekicks, tying the game at 5-5. Eligwe scored again in the th minute, putting the Sidekicks up again. Sebastian Mendez was issued a blue card for the Outlaws for tripping, giving the Sidekicks a powerplay goal from Blas Perez, his 3rd of the game. Vinicius Dantas scored 10 seconds later in the 6th minute for the Outlaws. Sebastian Mendez tied the game at 7-7 for the Outlaws in the 8th minute, sending the game into overtime. Ultimately, Albert Rodriguez for the Sidekicks scored a golden goal in the 5th minute, giving the Sidekicks the win 8-7. The Outlaws outshot the Sidekicks 28-21.
Texas Outlaws will be taking on the Kansas City Comets at Mesquite Arena for their home opener on December 16. Kick off will be at 7:05 pm CDT. Tickets are on sale NOW!
