Carleer and Nelles Named Academic All-District®

TEMPE – The 2023 Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were released on Tuesday, and Lieske Carleer and Pauline Nelles from Sun Devil Soccer made the list.

With this selection, Carleer has now been named to the Academic All-District® Team in three consecutive seasons. She is the sixth in program history to make the team three times and the first since Cali Farquharson made her third team in 2015.

Carleer is a graduate student pursuing her MS in clinical exercise physiology with a 4.00 GPA. She earned a BS in kinesiology with a 4.00 GPA. The Pac-12 named Carleer to the 2023 All-Pac-12 Second Team.

Nelles earns her first selection to the Academic All-District® Team. She maintains a 3.91 GPA while working on her BAE in elementary education. Nelles was also named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team after setting the program record for shutouts in a season with nine.

With these two selections to the Academic All-District® Team, ASU has had 25 student-athletes named and honored with 46 total selections.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
