CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s soccer team (7-3-6, 2-3-4 ACC) closes out the regular season on the road at Syracuse (2-13-2, 0-8-1 ACC) on Thursday (Oct. 26). Kick is set for 7 p.m.

  • Virginia closes the regular season at Syracuse on Thursday night and it is the fourth straight season (excluding the 2020-21 COVID altered season) that the Hoos have closed ACC play on the road.
  • UVA’s 11 goals allowed to date is second in the ACC for fewest goals allowed this season behind eighth-ranked Clemson and tied with No. 3 North Carolina.
  • Cayla White is second in the ACC in goals against average and tops in save percentage this season.
  • White posted her 25th victory against Miami and is tied for ninth in career wins at UVA.
  • The Hoos rank among the top half of the league offensively ranking sixth in assists (28), sixth in points (86) and seventh in goals (29).
  • Underclassmen have been critical in the offense for the Hoos this season with 24-of-29 goals to date coming from freshmen or sophomores.
  • Sophomores Maggie Cagle (7) and Meredith McDermott (7) have combined with freshman Allie Ross (6) to be the top three goal producers for UVA this season.
  • Cagle is top 10 in the ACC in points (T6th), goals (T9th) and assists (T5th) entering the week.
  • Cagle assisted on McDermott’s goal vs. Boston College to give her assists on both goals last week.
  • Jill Flammia scored her second goal of the season and first game-winning goal against Miami.
  • Talia Staude is third all-time in career starts with her 93rd coming against Virginia Tech and can pass Claire Constant for second all-time in games played with 103 at Syracuse on Thursday.
  • Staude also ranks second all-time at UVA in minutes played as she has logged 8,710 minutes to pass Chantel Jones (2007-11) with her outing against Miami last Thursday.
