FC Cincinnati Foundation Opens Bond Hill Mini Pitch

FC Cincinnati Announce Roster for 2023 Preseason

May 15, 2023 – Major League Soccer (MLS)FC Cincinnati News Release

FC Cincinnati Foundation opened its eighth mini pitch earlier this month in the Bond Hill neighborhood. The mini pitch is the eighth of 10 locations across the Greater Cincinnati region pledged by 2024 by the FC Cincinnati Foundation.

The FC Cincinnati Foundation is pleased to support the Bond Hill community with this investment, which would not have been possible without the generous support of Carl and Martha Lindner, Mercy Health, the Clement and Ann Buenger Foundation, H.G., H.F. & Louise Tuechter Dornette Foundation, First Financial Bank, Duke Energy Foundation, the Motz Group and the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.

The afternoon was highlighted by local students from the Bond Hill neighborhood, Xavier Jesuit Academy and the Church of the Resurrection being among the first to play on the field.

The students were joined by Mayor Aftab Pureval, Vice Mayor Jan Michele Kearney, Councilmember Liz Keating, Councilmember Seth Walsh, City Manager Sheryl Long, Pat O’Callaghan and Daniel Betts with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, and President Jacqueline Edmerson, Bond Hill Community Council.

FC Cincinnati 2 midfielder Ben Stitz and Gary the Lion were also on-site to take part in the afternoon’s activities and celebrate the opening of the mini pitch.

Mini pitches are a key focus for the FC Cincinnati Foundation as the organization works to improve the lives of children through soccer. Mini pitches provide a free and safe place for children to learn the game.
