Man Utd ‘willing’ to make ‘irresistible offer’ for ex-Chelsea star; Ten Hag ‘amazed’ by Brighton man

Man Utd want Mac Allister

According to reports, Man Utd are ‘willing’ to make an ‘irresistible offer’ to Barcelona to sign former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

The Denmark international established himself as an important player under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and he helped them win the Champions League at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

His form for Chelsea earned him a move to Barcelona during last summer’s transfer window. He joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer after his contract at the Premier League club expired.

The 27-year-old has been restricted to just 17 starts in La Liga this season due to his injury issues and he is already being linked with a move elsewhere.

Man Utd are understood to be in the market for a new defender with it looking likely that Harry Maguire will leave the club in the summer. Fichajes are reporting that they are interested in bringing Christensen back to the Premier League.

Christensen has been ‘put on the table’ by Erik ten Hag and Man Utd are ‘willing’ to make an ‘irresistible offer’. They are reportedly ‘able to pay up to 70 million euros’ for the defender.

Barcelona will be ‘forced’ to sell some key players this summer due to their ‘delicate financial situation’. Man Utd are prepared to ‘take advantage’ with Christensen being a ‘possible sale’.

Man Utd are expected to strengthen in several departments this summer. They want a new striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Tottenham’s Harry Kane among their targets.

Ten Hag could also look to recruit a new centre-midfielder to add more quality in that area of the pitch.

In a new Argentinian edition of AS (via Sport Witness), it is reported that Mac Allister is ‘one of the biggest names’ of this upcoming transfer window.

The midfielder has ‘attracted the attention’ of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and Brighton want ‘close to €70m’ for their prized asset this summer.

Ten Hag is thought to be an admirer of Mac Allister and the head coach was ‘amazed’ by the Brighton man’s performance in the FA Cup semi-final against United last month.

The report points out that Mac Allister’s versatility has helped to place him ‘almost at the top of the list’ of Man Utd’s summer…
