Seven Duck Teams Produce Perfect Scores In 2021-22 APR Data


EUGENE, Ore. – Seven University of Oregon athletic programs scored a perfect 1,000 in the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the 2021-22 academic year. The seven programs producing the 1,000 single-year APR include men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and soccer.
 
The Academic Progress Rate measures eligibility and retention each academic term and provides a clear picture of the ongoing academic performance for each team in every sport. Teams must earn a four-year average APR of 930 to compete in championships. Data was not released publicly for 2019-20.
 
The men’s tennis program led by Nils Schyllander posted a 1,000 single-year APR for the seventh consecutive year, while the Oregon women’s golf program led by head coach Derek Radley recorded a 1,000 single-year APR for the fifth year in a row. Courtney Nagle‘s women’s tennis program posted its third consecutive single-year APR of 1000, while the soccer program under head coach Graame Abel recorded its second consecutive perfect single-year APR score.
 
The men’s basketball program under Dana Altman improved to a 1000 single-year APR score, up from 974 a year ago, and the multi-year APR rate improved from 957 to 979. Oregon women’s cross country under Jerry Schumacher posted a perfect score of 1000, up from 972, while Kelly Graves‘s women’s basketball program also recorded a 1000 single-year APR, up from 978 a year ago.

The multi-year APR for men’s tennis, women’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, and women’s tennis are all at 1000, while several programs are at a multi-year rate of 980 or higher: men’s cross country (986), women’s basketball (994), lacrosse (990), softball (985), soccer (997), and volleyball (980).
