Tottenham striker Harry Kane should reunite with Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea, according to former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor.
Kane is being linked with an exit this summer with his Spurs contract set to expire in 2024.
Man Utd are believed to be leading the race to sign the England captain, though Daniel Levy is understandably reluctant to let his main man join a Premier League rival.
Spurs and the Red Devils faced off on Thursday evening with Levy in attendance.
The match finished a 2-2 draw after Erik ten Hag’s side surrendered a two-goal lead and Levy had to sit and listen to some pretty negative chants from the home fans.
Things are pretty sour at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at this moment in time and should Kane leave for Man Utd this summer, Levy can expect an angry mob outside his house.
He is in a sticky situation when it comes to the future of the 29-year-old, given the fact he is out of contract at the end of next season and a renewal seems extremely unlikely at this moment in time.
A switch to Old Trafford would obviously be catastrophic for Spurs and rumours of a move to Chelsea does not even bear thinking about for the north London club’s supporters.
With Pochettino expected to be appointed Blues manager, there is some talk of Kane switching north for west in the capital.
Chelsea is a bit of a mess at this moment in time, though it would be a better opportunity for the English striker to get some silverware for the first time in his career should he leave Spurs for them.
Pochettino arguably got the best out of Kane and would be more than happy to bring him to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea currently lacking a focal point up front.
Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor thinks Chelsea should not be ruled out of the running and says Kane would push to make it happen if they meet Spurs’ valuation.
Asked if Kane would consider a move to Stamford Bridge, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “There’s a chance, of course.
“Pochettino and Kane obviously got on really well together at Tottenham.
“If you’re Kane now, you’re thinking ‘I’m going anywhere to win trophies’.
“Chelsea are a club who will pay the fee – and if they do, I’m sure Kane will be in touch with his brother, his agent, to get it over the line.
“It doesn’t make sense for him to stay at Spurs. Every Spurs fan will look at it now, and they can’t have a problem with him going.
