Liverpool have had a tough 2022-23 campaign to say the least, but their fans will surely be excited about the various youngsters who they have coming through the ranks right now.
Ben Doak is among Liverpool’s brightest prospects and his latest solo goal served as a reminder of just how good he actually is. Signed from Celtic last year, the youngster has already racked up five first-team appearances.
The 17-year-old plays with maturity beyond his years and is exactly the sort of player that could be a hit at Anfield. Doak is already known in the first team, but the majority of his appearances this season have come for Liverpool’s Under-21s.
Across various youth groups and competitions, Doak has been lighting things up on Merseyside. With 11 goals and eight assists to his name in this campaign, it’s no wonder that he is receiving all sorts of plaudits.
His latest moment of brilliance came against West Ham’s Under-21s and it might be one of his best goals yet. At his current rate, we’re expecting his highlight reel to be outrageous come the end of the season.
Like a Brazilian futsal player, he brings the ball out of the sky with his back before tormenting two more defenders with a slick shimmy to the side.
The finish was never in doubt as he gave the goalkeeper the eyes before cooly slotting the ball into the near corner. It really does look like Liverpool have an upcoming star in their ranks.

Jay Spearing is a player who knows what it takes to break through the youth ranks at Liverpool and the Under-18s coach recently detailed the rise of Doak.
“At the end of the day, our main job is to develop players so they can eventually challenge for a place in the first team. So, we are going in the right direction with the likes of Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak doing so well up there,” Spearing told the club website.
“Ben was in our team at the start of the season and he was absolutely flying. He has made rapid progress and he is a great kid. We want to get players moving up the ladder and Ben has done that, playing for the U21s and then getting his first-team opportunity.
“Ben has got his head down, he works so hard, and he has got a great mentality. That drive and desire the boy has, it’s no surprise to us he has done so well. Fingers crossed, he can keep it going and keep getting better because the lad has a lot of ability.”
