Vincent Kompany has emerged a leading candidate to take over at Tottenham in the wake of Antonio Conte’s departure last week, according to reports.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has already made contact with sacked Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, who made way for Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena last week, while ex-Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked with the job.

Former Spain head coach Luis Enrique, Fulham manager Marco Silva and Brentford boss Thomas Frank are believed to be on Levy’s radar as well.

However, according to The Sun, Kompany has emerged the leading contender for the Tottenham job, having impressed Levy during his superb campaign in charge of Championship leaders Burnley.
