Russell Receives Spirit of Aggieland Award - Texas A&M Athletics


BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Senior Ali Russell earned Texas A&M soccer’s Spirit of Aggieland Award celebrating her positive attitude as a teammate, leader and Aggie.
 
Russell wrapped up a four-year playing career with 56 Aggie caps, including seven starts. She registered nine points with two goals and five assists. She scored one of the biggest goals of the 2020-21 campaign as the Aggies got past Oklahoma State to advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship.
 
The product of Katy, Texas dominated in the classroom where she was a four-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll honoree and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team.
 

Russell is one of the founding members and serves as president of Texas A&M’s student-athlete driven initiative F.A.C.E.  (Facilitating Athletes’ Continued Excellence) Mental Health.
 
The Aggies’ 2022 campaign ended with a 9-7-5 mark as head coach G Guerrieri became the fifth NCAA Division I coach to reach the 500-win plateau.
