HARRISON, N.J. – New York Red Bulls II have signed forward Oladayo Thomas to an MLS NEXT Pro contract, the club announced today.

“We are excited to announce Oladayo’s signing for the upcoming season,” Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said. “He will be able to highlight his skill within the team, which was proven during his college career.”


Thomas will start his professional journey with New York, having graduated from Santa Clara University in the spring of 2022. He began his collegiate career at Gettysburg College, where he scored goals in 23 of the 37 matches that he played over the course of two years. After transferring to Santa Clara, success followed, where Thomas tallied 17 goals and 10 assists in 40 matches for the Broncos.

“Oladayo [Thomas] will be able to assimilate himself within the team as soon as he hits the pitch,” Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya said. “We really enjoy what we have seen from him so far and will help develop him into the player we know he can be.”

The Nigerian born striker, who graduated from of The Masters School in New York, racked up the awards during his time in college. With Santa Clara, Thomas was named to the 2021 First Team All-West Coast Conference, 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team, and a 2020 All-WCC honorable mention. At Gettysburg, he was named First-Team All-Conference for two years in a row and led the Bullets to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2019.
