Manchester United are reportedly interested in Roma striker Tammy Abraham but face stiff competition from Chelsea, who have first refusal on their former player.

United boss Erik ten Hag looks set to bolster his frontline this summer and a striker wishlist is already being drawn up, with the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen being named as potential targets.

Abraham is another target for the Red Devils this summer, with the Athletic claiming the club have sent scouts on numerous occasions to the Stadio Olimpico to watch the Englishman.

However, any move for Abraham could be scuppered by his former club Chelsea, with Roma obliged to inform them if another club comes in for the 25-year-old.

This would present United with a major problem, given how Chelsea will also be in the market for a new frontman this summer despite already splashing nearly £600m on new signings under owner Todd Boehly.

Roma are currently battling financial fair play rules after UEFA sanctioned them for breaching regulations in the 2020-21 campaign.

While the Serie A side will have to ‘consider sacrifices’, they will not budge on Abraham’s price starting point of £71m.
