March 3, 2023 – Canadian Premier League (CPL)Pacific FC News Release

Langford, BC – Pacific FC today announced the signing of forward/winger David Brazão, who has joined the team ahead of the 2023 Canadian Premier League season.

Brazão most recently played for SU Sintrense in the third tier of Portuguese football.

“Brazão takes an intelligent approach to the game and he is technically evolved,” said Armando Sa, Assistant Coach, Pacific FC. “He is a young and naturally talented player who learned from some of the most distinguished schools in Portugal, and we are happy to welcome Brazão to our team.”

The 21-year-old spent time within some of Portugal’s most historic clubs as a youth player. Brazão began his youth career with Sporting CP before moving to Benfica to play with the club’s under-17 and under-19 teams. He then spent multiple seasons within the Clube de Futebol Os Belenenses academy, before graduating to its senior team.

Brazão is a creative and technical player with fantastic passing ability. The young attacker is coming off a very strong season with Sintrense, where he was a key player as the club battled near the top of the table. He scored six goals and added three assists in 17 appearances, receiving player of the week honours multiple times while representing the club.

Brazão is a goal threat from both dead ball and open play situations and is comfortable playing as a No. 10 or on either wing. Brazão scored multiple goals from direct freekicks this season and was the designated set-piece taker for Sintrense.

With Brazão confirmed for 2023, Pacific FC’s squad now officially has 20 players as preseason training continues, including goalkeepers Kieran Baskett and Gazdov, defenders Thomas Meilleur-Giguère, Kunle Dada-Luke, Paul Amedume, Amer Didić, Georges Mukumbilwa and Bradley Vliet, midfielders Josh Heard, Cedric Toussaint, Sean Young, Pierre Lamothe, Steffen Yeates and Manual Aparicio and forward Brazão, Easton Ongaro, Abdul Wahid Binate, Djenairo Daniels, Ayman Sellouf and Adonijah Reid.
