LOS ANGELES – Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC)announced that goalkeeper DiDi Haračić has agreed to a contract extension with the club through 2024, with an option for 2025.

“I’m grateful to be extending my career here in LA,” said Haračić. “Angel City has become a place I can truly call home. We have the best fanbase in the NWSL and I am so excited to share new memories with them as we head into our second season.”

“Over the last two seasons, DiDi has demonstrated that she is one of the best goalkeepers in our league,” stated Goalkeeper Coach Daniel Ball. “Her performances were integral to our results on the field last year, and she has rightfully established herself as one of our team’s leaders. It has been incredible to see how our fans have welcomed her to LA, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to secure DiDi for years to come.”

Haračić, ACFC’s 2022 Most Valuable Player and Supporters’ Player of the Year, was traded to the club in 2022, appearing in 21 of 22 regular season matches for a total of 1,890 minutes on the pitch. Her performance netted her a season-high 70 saves and four shutouts.

Her professional career started in 2011 when she was acquired by the DC United Reserves, a club in the USL Women’s League. She transitioned along with the club during their rebrand to the Washington Spirit Reserves in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL).

In 2014, she signed with the Western New York Flash of the NWSL, before going overseas to compete in the Swedish Women’s League with Div 2 Södra Norrland. Haračić would return to the WPSL with the Washington Spirit Reserves, before signing with the Spirit first team in the NWSL in 2017.

In 2018, Haračić was called up to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Women’s National Team where she started in a World Cup qualifying match against Russia. After two seasons with the Spirit, she was traded to Sky Blue FC before landing at ACFC in 2022.

While in college, she led the Loyola University Greyhounds to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship and Women’s NCAA Tournament appearance, earning the MAAC Player of the Year award in 2012.
