Arsenal: 7 loan players who could be in first team next season: Balogun, Patino…

Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun of Reims celebrates his goal during the French championship Ligue 1 football match between Stade de Reims and Clermont Foot 63 on August 14, 2022 at Auguste Delaune stadium in Reims, France

Mikel Arteta has done a fine job with Arsenal as he currently has them in the hunt for the Premier League title along with Manchester City.

The Spanish manager has also done a good job when it comes to developing youngsters and the Gunners also have some bright sparks who are out on loan.

We’ve gone through the Arsenal ranks and picked out seven players out on loan who could be in and around the first team next season.

Folarin Balogun

Eddie Nketiah’s loan spell at Leeds United was the catalyst for his development at the Emirates and Balogun could be following along on a similar path with his spell at Reims.

The Arsenal loanee is the outright top goalscorer in Ligue 1 right now with 15 goals. He’s even managed to outshine the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

Marquinhos

Arsenal fans are bound to hold Marquinhos in high esteem after his effective performances in the Europa League. The Brazilian winger is now spending the second half of the season on loan with Norwich.

With Norwich now gearing up for a playoff push, the Brazilian winger will be keen on making an impact for the Canaries. He’s yet to make his Championship debut due to injury but is now back in training.

Nuno Tavares

The Portuguese full-back had an inconsistent first season at the Emirates, but he did showcase some glimpses of talent. The 23-year-old played a total of 28 matches last season, with 22 of those appearances coming in the league.

Having spent the season so far on loan with Marseille, his development has been obvious to see. Tavares has often played as an attacking wing-back under Igor Tudor and he has scored five league goals already.

Charlie Patino

Blackpool have had a troublesome season and currently sit bottom of the Championship, but Patino’s quality has still managed to gleam through.

The playmaker has been a popular figure at Bloomfield Road this season and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him involved with Arteta’s squad in some capacity next season.
