FC Cincinnati Announce Roster for 2023 Preseason

FC Cincinnati were defeated today 3-1 by Philadelphia Union at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla. It marks the first loss of the preseason for the Orange and Blue, following two wins earlier in the camp. The two sides played a 120-minute friendly on Friday afternoon, with two standard 45-minute halves followed by a 30-minute period to close.


Philadelphia Union would get off to a quick start, scoring 10 minutes into the proceedings through Joaquin Torres. It the first half would end 1-0, but a Julian Carranza goal from a whipped-in ball made it 2-0 in the 49th minute.

The Orange and Blue bounced back quickly, however, as Sergio Santos sprinted in behind the Union defense and won a penalty. Brandon Vazquez stepped up to take, and he coolly rolled it into the bottom right corner to make it 2-1 in the 56′.

Philadelphia would earn a penalty of their own just three minutes later, and in the 61′ Daniel Gazdag rolled in his own penalty to the same spot for 3-1.
