OL Reign, Olympique Lyonnais and Club América: a Unique International Agreement in Women’s Soccer

SEATTLE, WA. – OL Reign, Olympique Lyonnais and Club América announced today the signing of a partnership for women’s soccer on an international level. This unique agreement between three major actors in women’s soccer around the world will strengthen the existing links between the clubs and develop new collaborations in various fields.


Claudia Carrion, Women Football Director of Club América, and Nick Perera, General Manager of OL Reign, were in Lyon-Décines, along with Sophie Sauvage, Head of International Women’s soccer of OL Groupe and Vincent Ponsot, General Manager of soccer, to present the main lines of this collaboration.

The first axis will be developed around aspects related to women’s professional teams, with the sharing of knowledge and skills between the various staffs of the three clubs, exchanges of information on recruitment, scouting networks and the organization of friendly games. The inaugural friendly match, symbolizing this new partnership, is scheduled for Saturday, February 25, at Starfire Stadium between OL Reign and Club América.

The friendly will provide fans with the opportunity to visit OL Reign’s new training site for the first time. OL Reign Season Ticket Members and Club América Supporters will have presale access to tickets beginning at 10:00 a.m. PT on Tuesday, February 7. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, February 9. Team merchandise will also be available to purchase at the event, including a limited-edition scarf to commemorate the partnership between the clubs.

“This global partnership with Club América is not only significant for our clubs, but also for our sport,” said OL Reign general manager Nick Perera. “Together, we will be able to elevate the game by creating unique opportunities for our players, academies, and staff. We’re thrilled for this new partnership and the extensive possibilities that will stem from it.”
