Arsenal target Ivan Fresenda could still leave Real Valladolid on transfer deadline day – despite the LaLiga side being keen to keep hold of the right back for the rest of the season.

Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have been tracking the 18-year-old throughout the transfer window after his impressive performances so far this campaign – while Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have also enquired. 

Both clubs are said to have agreed a £13million deal for the youngster, with the defender set to be loaned back to Valladolid for the remainder of the season as part of deals.

Earlier this week the right back missed training at club’s base in the country’s north-west, with reports citing he was ‘absent with discomfort’ before he was then also left out of the matchday squad against Valencia on the weekend.

Numerous reports have since stated that he would remain at Valladolid during the January transfer window, although the Spanish side were prepared to lose the youngster suggesting a move could still be on the cards.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also posted that Fresneda’s situation is one to watch out for on transfer deadline day.

He posted: ‘Ivan Fresneda situation. Real Valladolid, convinced to keep the player on Monday – but there could be some change in the final hours of the market as clubs are still trying to reach an agreement now for season 23/24.

‘One to follow until the end of the day.’

It comes after the player himself denied that he was leaving the club, by saying via The Metro: ‘No, I’m not leaving, calm down.’

Fresneda has become a regular fixture in Jose Rojo Martin’s side since September, chalking up 12 appearances across all competitions.
