January 29, 2023 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)Florida Tropics SC News Release

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Danny DiPrima scored 4:37 into overtime to lift the Harrisburg Heat to a 4-3 win over the Florida Tropics in Major Arena Soccer League action Saturday night.

For the Tropics, it is their third straight loss — and fifth in their last seven games. They have not had a three-game losing streak since the 2018-19 season, and in fact, over the last three seasons prior to this year had more regular season wins than any team in the MASL.

The Tropics do get one point in the standings for the overtime loss, giving them 20 on the season, good for first place in the East Division at 6-4-2. Second-place Milwaukee plays today, and is in second place in the division but have played three less games than the Tropics.

Harrisburg got out to an early 2-0 lead, but Florida scored the games next three goals – from Ricardo Diegues, Skylar Funk and Lucio Gonzaga with about five minutes to play in the third — put the Tropics up 3-2. Harrrisburg tied the game five minutes into the fourth to set the stage for DiPrima’s heroics. The Tropics outshot the head 31-22.

This was the second of a five-game road trip with Dallas up next on February 4, Kansas City on Feb. 10 and St. Louis on Feb. 11. The next home game is Sunday, February 19 against Kansas City.

Tickets for all home games are available starting at just $7 per game by calling the arena box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as opposed to calling the box office directly. Tickets are also available on game day at the box office.
