Martins – who has been training with Slaven Bilic’s squad for the past month – must receive international clearance before he is eligible to play for Watford.

Martins could be in contention for Saturday’s home game against Blackpool. However, it is dependent on whether his clearance is received in time.

Martins made more than 50 appearances for Fluminense in Brazil before signing for Italian side, Udinese.

The 19-year-old has also earned six caps and scored three goals for Brazil’s national U20 team.
