Chelsea are said to be surprised at the reporting of their interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk, with Arsenal’s path to signing the forward seemingly clear again.
STAMFORD SHOCK AND HORROR
Joao Felix is inbound. Enzo Fernandez, it turns out, very much is not. And according to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, who has his ear to the ground at Stamford Bridge, nor is Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Law has told the London is Blue podcast that talk of Chelsea hijacking Arsenal’s protracted move for Mudryk is nonsense. The Blues won’t be going close to the £88m demands of Shakhtar and the extent of their interest thus far is simply “exploratory, a bit of due diligence”.
It is added that “there’s a little bit of surprise around the ownership” at Chelsea with regards to how their Mudryk fascination has been reported. That will happen when you leak interest in every player of interest to any other club, with Pedro Porro the latest example of copied homework. They really have had a laughably bad transfer window thus far.
POCH SWING
Graham Potter could pay with his job. Or not. The Sun don’t seem too sure, saying he is ‘under huge pressure’ with the board ‘already considering’ their options.
He will, however, ‘be given the rest of this month to see if he can turn things around’. But also ‘a poor result against local rivals Fulham tomorrow could see the end of his short reign’.
Makes sense.
Anyway, the crux of this exclusive is that Mauricio Pochettino would happily replace him if asked and his relationship with Spurs is not an obstacle for their bitter rivals, despite previous assumptions.
REAL BIG FISH
With Harry Kane a single goal behind Jimmy Greaves in Tottenham’s all-time scorers list and two off becoming only the third player in history to reach 200 Premier League goals, Arsenal might as well accept that the bloke is scoring a hat-trick in Sunday’s north London derby.
But Kane would be forgiven for rocking up to that game in a distracted state after discovering he is Real Madrid‘s transfer priority this summer.
Bayern Munich seem to have scaled back their interest but Real have been scouring for ‘a new reference up top’ and Kane is ‘the favourite option’.
Todofichajes report that Kane would be more than keen to make the jump and hoover up as many trophies as possible, with £88m or so the ceiling of his valuation.
