Chicago Fire FC Announces 2023 Preseason Schedule

CHICAGO – Chicago Fire FC today announced its preseason schedule ahead of the 2023 MLS regular season.

The Fire will kick off preseason in Chicago on Jan. 16, training at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. before heading to Cancun, Mexico, from Jan. 20-31. The first training session open to media will be Jan. 16, and media interested in attending must RSVP to esanchez@chicagofirefc.com at least 24 hours in advance of each session. The second half of preseason training will take place at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona, during which the team will face off against three USL clubs and Real Salt Lake as part of the FC Tucson Desert Showcase.


While in Mexico, Chicago will face off against Cancun F.C. on Saturday, Jan. 31. The match will take place at 11:00 a.m. CT at Estadio Andrés Quintana Roo. The Fire will return to Chicago later that evening.

Following a week in Chicago, the Fire will then travel to Tucson on Monday, Feb. 6, where the team will play in four more preseason matches against Sacramento Republic FC, El Paso Locomotive FC, New Mexico United and Real Salt Lake in the FC Tucson Desert Showcase. Chicago will kick off the four-game stretch against Sacramento Republic on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7:00 p.m. CT, followed by El Paso Locomotive at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 11. Four days later, the Fire will match up against New Mexico United at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 15 and will close out the set of preseason games against Real Salt Lake at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 18. All four matches will take place at the Kino Sports Complex.

Streaming information for preseason matches in Mexico and Tucson will be provided at a future date.

Chicago will open the 2023 campaign with a bye during week one, prior to kicking off its 26th MLS season the following weekend against New York City FC on Saturday, March 4 at Soldier Field. Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT, the match against NYCFC will mark the earliest home opener in Chicago Fire history, occurring one day prior to the Club’s 2022 opener.

Tickets to attend the Fire’s 2023 home debut are now available for purchase. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a custom Fire flag, presented by Wintrust.
