24-year-old set for major payrise as Leeds close in on move

Todd Boehly prepared to move quickly as Chelsea consider rivalling Arsenal & Man Utd for forward transfer

Leeds United have been linked with a move for the RB Salzburg defender Max Wober.

According to reports from Austria, the 24-year-old defender is expected to complete his move to Leeds United soon and the transfer will be officially confirmed over the next few days.

Leads have conceded 29 goals in 16 league matches this season and Jesse Marsch will have to improve his defensive options in January.

Leeds cannot afford to leak goals as easily as they have done this season if they want to finish the season strongly. The Whites could easily be dragged into a relegation dogfight if they do not improve quickly.

Tightening up the defensive situation at the club should be a top priority for Jesse Marsch and he will hope that Wober can make an immediate impact at Elland Road. Marsch has worked with the player during their time together at Salzburg and he will know all about the strengths and the weaknesses of the defender.

Furthermore reports claim that the 25-year-old defender is set for a major pay rise and his wages could be doubled following the transfer.

Leeds are expected to pay around 17.7 million pounds for the defender. It remains to be seen whether Wober can make his mark in the Premier League and hit the ground running.
