Team USA recorded draws against both England and Wales before defeating Iran to reach the knockout stage. During large portions of all three games the US looked like the stronger team and by all means should have walked away with two wins if not for an absolutely foolish penalty that allowed Wales to tie the game.

As the focal point of the American attack, he registered the opening assist for Timothy Weah’s goal against Wales.
