December 27, 2022 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) – Mesquite Outlaws News Release
MESQUITE, TX. – On Thursday, December 29th, the Mesquite Outlaws (3-1-0) are playing in Allen, Texas, at Credit Union of Texas Event Center against the Dallas Sidekicks (0-2-0) at 7:00 pm CST.
The Mesquite Outlaws played the San Diego Sockers (3-0-0), who are back-to-back MASL Champions. The Outlaws fell to the Sockers in a tight 5-4 game in San Diego at Pachenga Arena. Axel Chakounte scored two goals in this game. Eduardo “Pollo” Cortes now has an 82% save average.
The Dallas Sidekicks had a good run last season, participating in the playoffs for the first time since 2014-2015. Players to look out for is Jamie Lovegrove, Flavio Guzman, and Blas Perez. Lovegrove is a veteran player, bringing a lot of expertise for the Sidekicks. Guzman is a rookie, making an impact as the top goal scorer, with two goals so far. Perez is also starting his rookie year, previously playing in the Major League Soccer for FC Dallas, and playing for the Panamanian National Team.
After playing in Allen, at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center, the Dallas Sidekicks will travel to Mesquite Arena and play the Mesquite Outlaws on Saturday, December 31st. Kickoff for the game is at 6:05 pm CST. Games can be viewed live on the MASL Twitch channel, and game updates will be given on all Mesquite Outlaws social media accounts (@mesquiteoutlaws).
